Improve Curbside Management

  • Curbside management is a key part of managing cities, especially with new modes of transportation like TNCs, increased online ordering/shipping, and increased urbanization. Because of the need for curb space for some many modes and actions such as deliveries, parking, bike lanes, and transit stops, downtown needs a curbside management plan. A well-thought through plan would help optimize curb use and make regulations more enforceable as people currently violate many rules pertaining to curb usage. These violations cause traffic congestion and are also known to block bike lanes. Some strategies to help with curbside management include educating the public, supporting the regulations with more enforcement personnel, revisiting curbside designations, and implementing clear signage.

    • Decrease automobile congestion

    • Decrease bike lane blockage

    • Increase enforcement power of regulations
